Nancy Winder, President

Phinney Ridge is my home congregation. I was baptized and confirmed here. My mother was the organist for 37 years, my father was the secretary of the church council for 15 years, and many other family members (most notably my grandmother, Astrid Melver) were members. My calling to be a pastor was greatly influenced by the Phinney community, and I was ordained here on July 18, 1976. After a 40 year career as a parish pastor, I joined Phinney in 2010. I’ve been involved here with the archives and history, the 100th anniversary in 2015, and the recent organist search. I’m an occasional choir singer and viola player.

I’ve never been an actual member of a Congregation Council, but I’ve sat alongside for a few decades. Pastors Hansen and Lohrmann asked me to take the president position and they were persuasive! I look forward to working with the council, congregation, and staff in our shared mission and ministry as PRLC.
