Summer Stuff! Look what we did!

Lutheran Summer Music

Four PRLC high school students (Lindsey Wilder, Einar Ogle, Tarkel Price, and Trygg Magelssen) attended this prestigious program!  Here’s what Trygg had to say about it:

Last month, a few of us youth of the church took a trip out to Valparaiso University to attend Lutheran Summer Music. It was such an amazing opportunity for each of us to grow, not only as a musicians, but also as a person. We had classes pertaining to each of our unique musical interests, team building amongst friends throughout, and of course, great exposure to live music every night. Each of the hot summer days brought tons of learning, and aided our preparation for the individual life after high school. Thank you, Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church, for showing us this eye-opening experience.

Vacation Bible School

...was super special as about 30 children, youth, and adults gathered on the Phinney front lawn for four days of fun; hopping, skipping, and jumping into God’s love with exploration of Bible stories about water and women from the book of John.

Camp Lutherwood

Nicole and nine campers from Phinney had a wonderful week on the shores of Lake Samish!

Coming Up:

Students of ALL ages, teachers, administrators, professors and EVERYONE heading back to school, you are invited to bring your backpack, school bag, briefcase, laptop tote or whatever gear you take along to learn to worship at 8:30am or 11:30am on Sunday, August 29 to receive a special blessing and a reminder that God’s love goes with you.

Fall Fun for EVERYONE Sunday, September 12

Fall doesn’t technically begin until ten days later, but Vicar Sara says, “It’s Fall enough!”  So...ALL are welcome on the Phinney front lawn from 9:30 until 11:00am for food and fun as we begin FALLING back into in-person gathering at PRLC.  This will also be an intentional meeting time for mentors and their confirmation students to connect.

QUENCH Continues On Wednesdays!

Starting again Wednesday, September 15 all youth in grades 6-12 are invited to meet in-person (and outside as much as possible) at PRLC from 4:30-5:30 pm.  We’ll quench our literal and spiritual hunger and thirst with time together for connection, devotions, refreshments, and fun.  Separate small group experiences and spaces for middle and high school students will be available.  Plan to attend youth choir rehearsal afterward, beginning at 5:30 pm!

CONFIRMATION Now On Sundays!

How exciting to have students in grades 6 through 10 all engaging in intentional preparation to affirm their baptismal promises!  Confirmation classes will convene in-person at PRLC weekly on Sundays from 9:45-10:45am between worship services beginning Sunday, September 19.  Sophomores will be engaging in a special six week intensive course with the “final five” experiences and a special book study as they get ready to be confirmed on Reformation Sunday, October 31 during 11am worship.  Confirmation families will receive more details from Nicole soon!
