Book Discussion Group: Caste

In her book, Caste: The Origins of our Discontent, Isabel Wilkerson contends that the social and political landscape in America is not unlike caste systems around the world. The best way forward, she believes, is to understand our racial past and how its perpetuation keeps progress at bay. Pastor Hansen invites you to join him in exploring this book as he prepares for the Civil Rights tour as part of his Sabbatical next summer. We’ll also draw upon other works, including Parting of the Waters by Taylor Branch. Of primary concern will be the question, “What does this mean for us as followers of Jesus?” The group meets Monday evenings beginning January 11th at 7:00 p.m. Participants are encouraged to purchase the Caste book.
