May Tower Echoes: Upcoming Adult Forums

May 2 – YAGM and the Pandemic
Join PRLC member Emma Maier for a conversation on her experience with YAGM (Young Adults in Global Ministry) during this past year.

May 9 – Prison Ministry and Criminal Justice Reform
PRLC Members Chris Shultz and Darrell Kirk will tell the story of their own involvement with two transformative organizations making a difference in the lives of people in the criminal justice system. The Kairos Prison Ministry creates Christian communities inside prisons resulting in transformed lives, decreased prison violence, and reduced recidivism. Community Passageways creates alternatives to incarceration for youth and young adults by rebuilding communities through committed relationships centered on love, compassion, and consistency. Learn about these groups and how you can be directly involved alongside Chris and Darrell.

May 16 – The Diaconate
Join the PRLC Deacon Call Committee for a conversation on the ministry of Deacons. In our ELCA, Deacons are set apart for ministries of Word and Service. As we prepare to call a Deacon, learn something of what this ministry is about for PRLC, the wider church, and God's mission in the world.

May 23 – Sacred Streets Soul Care with Sparrow Carlson
If you’ve had any interaction with our friends at Aurora Commons, you have probably met co-founder Sparrow (formerly Lisa) Carlson. With the Commons ministry now flourishing, Sparrow felt the need to start a new venture focusing even more on care for the individuals on the margins. Sacred Streets Soul Care will tend to the struggle of our unhoused neighbors and call forth their deep human potential by offering street-based chaplaincy and by invoking soulful imagination with the groups, agencies, and institutions desiring to serve them. You’ll learn about this new venture and how we can support and grow from Sparrow’s work.
