Mission teams serve Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church as a leadership structure. So much is done by the members of PRLC that it can simply be amazing to watch and even more amazing to join the activities.

All mission teams meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month combined worship, words for community, and their respective meetings.

Current mission teams include:

The Evangelism Mission Team

The Evangelism Mission Team was established in 1996 to identify, attract and invite people to share in the Christian life through the faith community at PRLC. Since that time, we have increased our level of visibility within the community through our annual participation in the Greenwood community events. We have personally invited our neighbors to PRLC events by distributing Holiday cards door-to-door. Our mission is to continually provide ways to open our doors to the community with a sincere invitation, and then to warmly welcome and nurture them once inside. In addition, we look for ways to educate the congregation about what evangelism means, as it is central to our Christian calling and the mission statement of PRLC.

The Hospitality Mission Team

The Hospitality Mission Team is ministers at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church by providing meals, snacks, and a lot of hands for service. Some times meals are cooked by the team members with certain specialties coming from several Phinney households. For Potluck meals, the team sets up and cleans up with the help of other congregation members. The team also provides for funeral and memorial gatherings if requested. They are also willing to assist other teams at events that require food.

The Stewardship Mission Team

Being a faithful steward to God encompasses everything we do each day. It is how we spend our time with family and friends, at work, and volunteer at church. What do we do to protect the environment God has entrusted to us? What are the priorities in your life? Just look at the pages in your checkbook or credit card statement. Is God a viable part of those pages? The Stewardship Mission Team has information on how to be a faithful steward in this consumer society for individuals, families and children.

The Technology Mission Team

The Technology Mission Team focuses on the use or technology to assist the ministry of Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church. Appropriate use of technologies will save time (both for staff and volunteers) and/or money (from the church’s budget). The Technology Mission Team plans and oversees the selection, implementation, training, and maintenance of technology related items at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church.
