Yarn, knitting needles and crochet hooks, the ebb and flow of conversation along with gentle encouragement.
“What’s the best way to cut yarn for fringe?” “Here. Let me show you how I do it.”.
It is 10 a.m. and members of PRLC’s Prayer Shawl group are meeting in the library on the second Saturday of the month. At around 11:50a.m., members gather around completed shawls, lay hands on them and pray for those who will receive them, whether the recipients are known at that time or not.
PRLC’s Prayer Shawl Ministry began in 2007. Monthly meetings are a time of fellowship, conversation, teaching and support. The work of many hands allows the ministry staff to have a ready supply of Prayer Shawls to give in times of distress, sorrow or even great joy as an extension of the caring ministry of the entire congregation.
Novice and experienced knitters and crocheters are welcome. Donations of yarn and money are welcome to support the work of this group. Call the church office or contact Pastor Piro for more information about joining the group or requesting a prayer shawl.
