The Monelli Memo

One of the great joys of working at PRLC is the opportunity to pray with the Bread for the Journey children each Wednesday evening. At the end of their classes and choir rehearsals the children gather on the chancel steps for worship with Evelyn and me. After an opening prayer and a song or two I ask the children to share what is on their hearts through prayer. The grace abounds. Even the youngest of the group speak their cares and concerns aloud to God. And I am always amazed and humbled by what they say. There are always prayers for the homeless and the hungry and intercessions for people caught in the midst of natural disasters.  There are prayers for ill grandparents and for polar bears and one evening a long and very fervent prayer for an end to racism was offered by a 9 year old.  As we approach the celebration of All Saints, these Wednesday evening times of worship remind me that there are saints all around me and they are very young. Who are the saints in your life? What are they teaching you?

For His Sake,
Nancy

A Celebration of All Saints for all children and youth

Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 10am in Fellowship Hall
All Sunday School students and their teachers are invited to meet together in Fellowship Hall for a time of learning and fun. The 7th and 8th grade Confirmation students have created a presentation to share and there will be stories, crafts, and even treats to help everyone remember and celebrate the Christians who have inspired and led us in our own lives of faith.

For the Adult Members of Children and Family Ministry

The Caregiver Circle meets on Sunday, November 19, 2017 in Pastor Hansen’s office. If you care for an elderly parent, a loved one with a chronic condition, or a distant relative with continuing needs, you are welcome and encouraged to take part in this support group. This is an opportunity to meet with others experiencing similar life challenges, to learn coping skills, discover local resources, and pray with and for one another. If you would like more information, please contact Nancy Monelli at children@prlc.org.
