Children and Family Ministries Report

The Monelli Memo

Happy Easter! I hope that all of you are taking time to celebrate during this glorious season. The church sets aside fifty days for Easter – ten more than Lent! So our alleluias don’t need to end after Easter day.

To help your family make the most of this wonderful season I hope you will take some time to mark and celebrate this joy-filled time in your home. The great resurrection stories – from Mary at the tomb, to the road to Emmaus, to Jesus meeting his disciples on the beach—make for wonderful read-a-load experiences for families. And if you need children’s versions of these narratives, just stop by my office to pick them up.

This is also a great time to do some planting and to talk about the gift of new life. Even a simple project with a small pot and some seeds can be a fun activity that can encourage a an Easter discussion. Whatever you do, take time to do it with joy so that the Easter experience can continue in your family’s daily life.

For His Sake,
Nancy

The Caregiver Circle

The Caregiver Circle will meet on Sunday, May 21st at 10 am in Pastor Hansen’s office. This month’s theme is Letting Go. In addition to our usual time for sharing, we will discuss the difficult but necessary discipline of letting go of control, expectations, plans, etc.

If you care for an elderly parent, a loved one with a chronic condition, or a distant relative with continuing needs, you are welcome and encouraged to take part in this support group. This is an opportunity to meet with others experiencing similar life challenges, to learn coping skills, discover local resources, and pray with and for one another. If you would like more information, please contact Nancy Monelli at children@prlc.org.
